I live in Florida, so for me the same gear. Was happy to know they speak several languages, one of which is english. Be sure to soak up the great coffee's and Cuban cigars while there in Williamsport, the bridge crossing is a hoot. I also recommend the Marriott Vacation Resort, excellent service, great view.

Normal tropical outfits. If you go to the national parks use sturdy walking shoes with heavy soles, cactus- and Mimosacea (Acasia etc.) thorns can be very vicious (flip-flops certainly won't do !); and watch out for the "devils nettle" (Cnidoscolus urens), bugs should be no problem
