Try Doi Suthep. I've only climbed in Railey, but scenary looks great in Chiang Mai too.

Most of foreigners know only trekking in the south of thailand. But Chiang Mai province has so many beautiful places & secret nature offer those people who love adventure also. i have website to recommend

Sorry I only know places in laos - but if you take a boattrip along mekong (which is beautiful but strenuous) you find places near luangprabang and in vang vieng

I'm sure rock climbing would be amazing, there is a lot of beautiful scenery [as I'm sure you know]. I was there a few years back and went hiking from hill tribe to hill tribe, we were fed the traditional food and the guides were hilarious. If you haven't done so already its worth taking a look at...

I have not been there for Rockclimbing.
Elephant ride and bamboorafting gooing to the market place relaxing and enjoying with the girlfriend, not a local but my own girlfriend.

I'm in Chiang Mai atm, haven't tried out the climbing yet but people who have say it's as good as Railey, but less crowded.

Chiang Mai sits at the base of Mount Suthep. there are some waterfalls that afford some good climbing. there are other peaks nearby, too.

If you want rock climbing you should go south to Railey Bay. You can into Krabi from Chiang Mai or BKK. I don't know what the climbing is like in CM, but they have good treks up there. You can also catch the overnight train which is a good way to get to and from the north/south. Much more comfortable than buses/minibuses, can take as long as some flight (getting to the airport/checkingin/delays/flying/baggage collection) and you dont need to pay for accom for a night.
