Go to the old part of Dubai if you want to see the history and real culture. Safari is ok the ride was cool but the place they take you to at the end of the night is a joke. I would do the Big Bus tour its fairly cheap and you can hop on and off the bus to explore on your own. with over 20 stops! Atlantis was fun and Wild Wadi for water parks. Mall hopping was fun too Dubai mall and Mall of the Emirates. Gold souk was interesting with being able to haggle for prices and getting gold for fairly cheap with intricate designs you could resell in the US sometimes for twice the price! i think it was the mall of dubai they have a water show right outside next to this souk that was made by the same makers of the one in Las vegas outside of the bellagio. if not the mall of dubai its the mall of the emirates, one of the two.

Check out the hotels like Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab. There's the desert safari with dune bashing and sandboarding. There's also an indoor ski resort in one of the malls. And, go shopping! gold, oils, spices, etc.

There is a Bus line that offers a hop-on hop-off service to alomost everywhere in Dubai - it's a great way to spend the day exploring. I did a Desert Safari that was really cool - Orient Tours.

Depending on how much money you want to spend... indoor skiing, clubs, relaxing at a resort, taking a tour around the city [awesome architecture] and of course, lounging at the beach with some local food.

You may enjoy a nice dinner at Jumeirah Madinat, nice restos, have a drink at the Irish Village, do the Safari and do the Dune bashing. Ramadan will only be over by Sept. 21. If you travel after that, then you can enjoy the nightlife.
