My friend and I went in October and there was NO ONE there (we didn't have a wait at any of the museums or anything else) and the weather was really nice.

We've narrowed it down to December now, due to school constraints (my friend is in nursing school so will be taking her clinicals next autumn). Will Florence be cold during December? I'm fine with 40 or 50 degree F weather. Thanks for all your help!

None peak times are pretty much Fall/Winter times. I went there in October and it was pretty crowded but tolerable.

As the above have mentioned, April-May or September-October times are best - very few tourists and comfortably warm. After Easter, the prices hike, so avoid going then. I stayed in a hotel where the price went up after Easter Sunday once! Hope this helps. :)

Try going when it's a shoulder season. We went in April the week of spring break. This is a good time because all of the museums have discounts just for spring break. There are a lot of tourists, but the longest lines are only at the Acadamia and the Uffizi. You can save an hour of waiting at the Acadamia and Uffizi by placing a reservation ahead of time.

April or May is best but bring a light jacket or sweater as the mornings/evenings will be cool. Be prepaered for the occasional spring shower

The best time is early spring or autumn. Avoid the holidays like easter. prices rise and there are lots of italians and tourists from neighbour countries.

April May for sure. Weather is getting nice and you beat all the summer travel traffic. Pisa is only an hour away. Great to do together

Generally May and September are great times to see much of Europe. I've been to Florence twice, in September and over New Years, and both times have been pretty uncrowded -- though the weather was warmer in September!

I would say march. Or beginning November. If you are lucky, it's dry and warm and not crowded with tourists. But in fact, Firenze has a lot of tourists all the time

I was there last August (just before labor day). It was a bit warm in the day, but the evening and mornings were perfect! And it was not a real high tourist season.

Tuscany can also be very beautiful in the winter, as long if you don't exspect it to be warm. It does rain sometimes though.

There are a few weeks late March early April which would put you before Easter and all the price hikes! As for the Weather...it's early spring so rain is possible.
