Sachertorte tastes great but just at hotel sacher. in my opinion apple strudel is not that good. try "malakofftorte","schwarzwälderkirschtorte" or "mohr im hemd" "topfenstrudel with hot vanilla sauce" is great. I´m sure you will get one of these in a traditional cafe (demel or havelka for example)

Cafe Demel, Cafe Central, Hotel Sacher (where they possess the original recipe of Sachertorte) - all in central Vienna, also Gloriette in Schoenbrunn are definitely places for those who like desserts. For those who do not - you will find plenty of other places to eat. If you just need a non-expensive snack in between sightseeing, I would suggest such places as Wienerwald (Annagasse 3, also in other places), or self-service Roserberger (Maysedergasse 2).

Strudel I can not remember, but one of the best for typical food (do not remember the name, is a soup with vegetables and Meat), is the Palachutas Restaurant.
