Papua, Indonesia, is the western part of New Guinea Island that belongs to Indonesia. Divided into two province, Papua and West Papua, Manokwari is the capital of West Papua Province and Jayapura is the capital of Papua Province. To get to Jayapura, it will take you an 8 hours flight from Jakarta (capital of Indonesia) to Sentani, where the airport is located, then another 45 minutes to 90 minutes drive to the city of Jayapura. Sentani is known for its beautiful lake, and Jayapura is situated at the coastline. So the trip from Sentani to Jayapura would be full of wonderful views of the lake and Yos Sudarso Bay.

Jayapura City is the capital of Papua province, Indonesia, on the island of New Guinea. It is situated on Yos Sudarso Bay (formerly known as Humboldt Bay).
