Athens for history, Meteora for the temples and the landscape, Delphi and Epidaurus for ruins, Santorini island it's unique, Mykonos and Delos

@Mary-Rose C I came back from Santorini recently. Not only it was dead but it was sooooo windy I nearly got blown off the island! I guess my hotel being on a hill didn’t help either LOL. @ Scarlet V Read an article on Retox Magazine about Cavo in Mykonos http://www.retoxmagazine.com/cavo-paradiso.html, also researched it and you’re right, it seems like it’s a party place. Planning to head there this August. Mykonos here I come!!!

I cannot say I have seen a lot of Greece but I highly recommend Fira, Oia and the black sanded beaches of Santorini. They the views and the experiences are something different. If in Athens there historical sights a fantastic and time must be taken to see these things as there is so much to see. Have a fantastic time!

Visit the cyclades....a hopping with the ferries..for example from santorini to paros, naxos, mykonos...

go to Rhodos and make a cruise towards Turkay to a small lovely island called Symi. you can also see two seas meeting at Prassonisi - in the eveneing I was there each of them had a different colour.. one was more blue and the other one more green..

Rhodes...Combines perfectly everything...Mountain and extraordinary beaches...Big city life and small villages,hisrtorical sights and museums and nightclubs...It has everything anyone could ask for... (I've been going there every single summer until I finally decided to stay there forever)

Ammoudia and Parga, in north, are absolutley great. First one, the Delta of the river Acheron, river of the dead, is anything but a crowded turist place. It has a few good places to yet, an empty hidden beach and sea water sweeten by the turquoise river waters. Parga, with her coloured houses drawn on montain versants, reminds me of Copenhagen, in a snny way.

Nafplion is absolutely amazing but go in the off-season. Make sure you explore the fortress, Palimidi entirelly. The views of the city and sea from the walls are incredible but be carefull on the steps and wear hiking shoes. Rent a boat and tour the island-fortress Bourtzi and make sure you get Gelato (ice cream) from Anchaic Roma Gelato, its the best in the world!

crete! corfou! lesbos! samothraki! spetses! Santorini! Zakynthos! each island has its own beauty! if you're travelling at fall : you must go the zagoroxoria (zagoros villages). really nice colours!!

Athens is the obvios option. The Island are beautiful and along the coast you can find resorts if your looking to relax. The korinthos canal is also fantastic.

Well, I have been to Crete, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Zakynthos and Crofu - I can recommend them all! Wonderful country!!! It all depends what You are interested in ^^

Rhodos, Kreta, Kos. All great islands to go and make trips by car or scooter. If you go to Kos it is very easily to go to bodrum, turkey. very nice to do.

Depends on the weather: A)May-Oct for beach-life go to the Ionian Islands (mainly Kefalonia, Lefkada,Paxoi) or the Aegean (Serifos,Sifnos, Milos the best),B)Nov-Apr for mountain-life go to Kastoria, Karpenisi or Ioannina up North or Kalavryta & Taygetos in Peloponissos.

Athens to see the Acropoilis, Cyclade Island : Syros and Mykonos. Syros is not over crowded with tourists therefore could for peace and relaxation. Mykonos is more party,party party! So if you're looking more for having fun and clubbing go Mykonos. Athens for history.

well I think Rhodes. as it one the biggest islands in greece.also is maybe this island have more sun then any other greek islands or the mainland!! and if you like to have a good nighlife pefkos maybe a suggestion!! but best time to visit is the summer okay

Hi! I'd suggest Thessaloniki if you want to get off the tourristic roads. I'd rent a rental car go to Kassandra or Sithonia (some sort of "legs" in the sea, East from Thessaloniki. Then head to some smaller towns like Naoussa (home town of the Shcool of Aristotle where Alexander the Great went!). They have some great vineyards there and people are very friendly (reason is that there are not so much tourists!). That would be a good alternative to Athens and the famous islands.

Greece is a perfect place for vacation. The choice of the place depends on the kind of vacation u'd like to psend. If it's a hineymoon, then certainly Santarini island, since it's the most romantic one. If this is a family vacation with little kids, then Crete with nice sandy beaches and warm sunny days. Crete is also known for gorgeous nature (high mountains, deep gorges, pink sand at Elafonis). Rodos island is considered to be one of the greenest and most beautiful islands with active nightlife, but it's also expensive (I've never been there). Khalkidiki is also a nice place but the most dense population is in Sitonia region. Khalkidiki is also known for a magnificent monastery "Meteora" (it's worth seeing for sure).

Delphes for history and natural landscape, Santorini is a must (try to get on the Thalassa sunset boat ride); Crete (Iraklio & Knossos and Chania) for the people

It depends on what would you like to do. Corfu is a very nice island with great beaches and also the life is not expensive, as it is in Myconos and Santorini. Athens is the capital. You can fine many places to eat, drink, have fun, museums.

The capital city Athens is great if you like some culture ... you can see almost everything in a few days. Or go Island hopping that is nice too

I loved Perissa, Santorini. We stayed at a hotel a block from the water, and had uncrowded beaches in June. Loved it.

If you're looking for more "wild" beaches, i suggest going to Lefkada island, in the Ionian Sea. It has these most amazing beaches. You can search for Porto Katsiki or Egremni Beach to see how amazing they are.

depends if you are looking for beaches or city life. For instance, Halkidiki has nice beaches, Thessaloniki is good for shopping and Kavala has a little of both.
