Big Island, for sure. While non of the islands are super rainy, Kauai and the Windward sie of Oahu can get some good rain. But the top of the Big Island is dry and volcanic.

As a resident, its good to say that it rains on all islands in December. To be honest it is usually 85 degrees on Christmas Day. A great day for the beach throughout the islands. Mountainous areas are wetter than flatter ones. Waikiki rarely gets rain and when it does, it passes very quickly. Plus, the rain is usually pretty warm here. Hope this helps someone!

Well, the Big Island isn't dry at all if you're on the Hilo side. Kauai is going to be the rainiest. But all islands have a dry side--south and west Maui, Kona side of the Big Island. Leeward Oahu, too--but I wouldn't recommend tourists go there.

I think it depends if you are on the west or east side of the island. I was last November, the wettest island was big island. Maui and Lanai were fine. Kauai was also fine, exept for one day really bad rain in the alakai swamp.

I am from Maui so Wailea is the right place, it is considered the Gold Coast of the island.

Hi, I was on Kauai in Februari. Had loads of rain. Still had a great time though. Diving into the Hawaiian atmosphere... Big Islands was dryest. Very windy going up North. But worth it again! Enjoy your stay!

All of the islands have a wet side (facing the NE trade winds) and a dry side (leeward).

The Big Island, top of Mauna Kea, is the driest and most clear location in the Northern Hemisphere. That's why all the big telescopes are on top of Mauna Kea.

You can't beat the Wailea area in Maui, it is practically a desert compared to other parts of the island.

Kona and Waikaloa on BIg Island are very dry for overall Haaii standards...but Big Island overall cn get huge rainfall if you decide to visit the Volcano for example. Pick a destination ON an island instead of an entire one and you'll get a better idea. The south west side of Maui is also somewhat dry that time of year....these places range around 2-4 inches of rain in December, as compared to 8-12 inches for places liek Volcano National Park or the Napali Coast.
