First advice: Don't waste your time by bus between el calafate and ushuaia: it's not that cheaper than flight. Moreover the view of Ushuaia from the sky is the best view i ever seen (or one of :p). Second: visit el Chalten which is, in my opinion, way better than Perito Moreno (Calafate). Third: compare prices, exemple for boat trips in Ushuaia. We get 20 or 25% i don't remember ... with the cheapest first price. Moreover: chose wisely: small boats, no the big ones, they do the same trip but you're just packed. In Ushuaia don't miss the opportunity to sky for a day in Cerro Castor. It's not a big station but it's still cool to say "skying in ushuaia". also socialize, there are not a lot of parties in ushuaia or calafate so if you don't speak with argentinians you won't know what to do at night (or sleeping :p). A good way is going in hostels (cheaper, better, more fun ^^).

hi there! I´ve travelled to argentinian patagonia in 2007. I spent about 40 days there. Its just amazing. I am a backpacker, so I travel with (really) little money. In Ushuaia I stayed in a very clean, simple hostel. there are many there. this one was quite far from downtown. who cares? I wanted to know Ushuaia, to go around etc. unfortunatly I don´t have the address anymore, but my advice is: ´check and check there are many offers. If you can, don´t miss Perito Moreno, and Puerto Madryn. hope it helps!

It depends on the season. In Ushuaia during the winter, the best option is skiing and snowboarding in Cerro Castor. There's also a Winter Center, with a lot of winter activities. I have been to the Tierra del Fuego national Park by bike during the winter, but it's not the best season for that. In the summer, there are different activities, such as trekking, hiking, climbing, biking, kayaking and much more. Enjoy!

Both of them are really nice, but for my surprise El calafate is more interesting then Ushuaya! At El calafate do not miss the day trip to El Chalten, where you can take the trail to see the Mount Fitz Roy!! At Usuaya go to the presidion and take part of the theatre inside it!! and do not miss the boat trip to see pinguins!! take care of your belongings all the trip

at calafate you will visit the most impresive glacier Perito moreno with a day trip(not expensive)after that you will fly to Ushuaya and will take the cruze arount the Cape horn.(1200$ per person )We did it last year and i cannot stop thinking about it..
