30km from Fortaleza, there's a little kitesurfing village called Cumbuco. Beautiful beach, and yearlong kitesurfing. I stayed at a hostel called Cumbuco Guesthouse, and most the lodgers go out to kitesurf together, and breakfast is included per night.

You are right man. Jericoacoara is definetly the best spot in the country for Kite-surfing, it is actually the best in all South America. But always check best wind seasons. Despite the kitesurf itself, Jeri is an amazing place with no cars, sandy streets and a picture-perfect dune where people applause the sun kissed sunsets !!

Just like Bessy already said...Cumbuco is nice to kitesurfing, also has beatiful beaches, and it's not so far from Fortaleza.

Pipa is very nice. A nice town, and good waves, I guess, since there are a lot of surfers over there.
