It is not colder than any Central European city in winter... It is rarely under 0 C.

Budapest can be awesome any time of the year. Snow would add to the magic. Just be prepared for the cold, rug up, go to the thermal baths, drink lots of wine (try the hungarian house of wine for this). Enjoy!

I cannot imagine there ever being a bad time to be in Budapest! The people are so warm and the city so beautiful and the food and wine so scrummy that a good time can be had anytime!

Budapest is a really really great city and in winter you might get a cheap deal for your stay. Of course it's a bit colder in winter and you can't really go to the open-air clubs, but there are enough other awesome places to go that are not outdoors. Basically every city in Europe is colder in winter than in summer, that doesn't make them uninteresting. I imagine that Budapest must be very very beautiful with snow! I was there just yesterday!

Definitely go! It might be a little chilly, but you can always warm yourself up in the Széchenyi thermal baths! :)

I have spent a weekend inBudapest in February and it was charming. Ok, it might be cold, but the snow adds to the feel of the city and if you're one for ice skating, there's a really good spot for that near the agriculture museum. I have also been toBudapest onevery windy and cold November day, and it was not so pleasantwith the autumn rain,so just in case, get ready with somewarm clothes.

True if you consider it's COLD in winter and because of the cold strolling through a city is less attreactive and perhaps the public transportation functions less well because of that. But if you can stand the cold, just go :). But my experiences with visiting cities when it's about -10 degrees C outside, is that you should definately pack lots of warm clothing and make sure you can go inside somewhere if needed ;)
