Famous places are not worth it, unless they mean something to you. you will never forget spectacular views.

Spectacular views for sure, and one I can recommend for you is a hill of sand Dune de Pyla near Arcachon on the Atlantic coast. On one side great blue ocean and on another an ocean of trees...

Honestly, famous places. Views are great, and I'm not saying they're not, but I like to see where history was made, and the stories that go with certain places.

i would say go for the views also. the view from the top of the arc de triomphe is the best in paris, go in the evening.

well your question says you are asking this about France I think? I love both there! South of France has the spectacular views and the North has the tourist attractions...I guess I enjoy both because I love art (tourist attractions) but I love to travel (spectacular views)...can't I have both?

Joining the crowd here...definitely spectacular views. And I'll take any kind - snow capped mountains, beautiful lagoons, crashing waves. Any place where I can act like the tourist that I am and snap 150000+ pictures. :)
