The queen's palace, although dilapidated, looted and covered in Russian and Dari/Pashto graffiti, is definitely worth seeing. If you ever find yourself in Darulamon.

Majestic masterpiece built about 1901, many dangerous holes in the floors, still beautiful marble broken and busted throughout; many old soviet safes tossed about the premises, some staircases blocked with concertina; you can easily imagine the grandeur with the five bathrooms, one bronze tub still remains after the looters and soviet occupation. One old refrigerator with no doors, most fire hoses and electrical outlets stripped out. I would love to see this place restored..as spendid as Mount Vernon or Monticello.
