Grand Erg Occidental Desert
About Grand Erg Occidental Desert
The second largest erg in Algeria, the Grand Erg Occidental represents the terrain most commonly associated with deserts. Here lies an endless sea of sand dunes, mound after mound stretching into the distance. Harsh conditions and high temperatures makes the region quite devoid of human life, and only at the fringes of the region can villages be found.
