Description:
For intrepid travellers that want an experience that is really off the beaten track, the Kherrata Gorge is an interesting option.  Cut off from much of the rest of Algeria, it is a place that few people lay eyes on.

Getting to the gorge can be considered a bit dangerous, since rock falls are not uncommon, and can roll off the mountain on or near the road.

Situated at 2000m above sea level, the gorge features beautiful mountain scenery and waterfalls.  It's best to hire a local guide to take you on excursions up and around the surrounding area.

You can get to the Kherrata Gorge by bus, but be aware once you get there that you will have to travel by foot.  You may want to consider bringing camping equipment as the tourist infrastructure is not exactly developed.
Getting there:
40 km north of Setif.  Can take a bus into the Kherrata region, once there, you will be travelling by foot.
