The National Park of American Samoa occupies over 2500 hectares of land (mostly) and water on the remote and lightly populated Ta’u Island. It encompasses a majority of the island and consists of dense rainforests that are home to birds such as black noddies, fruit doves, and the Pacific pigeon, as well as the Pacific boa. There are a number of inactive cones and craters in the park, and the coastline contains stunningly high sea cliffs.
