Description:
Codrington Lagoon is home to the largest nesting colony of frigate birds in the Caribbean.  Thousands of these frigate birds nest in the mangroves of Codrington Lagoon.  The mating season is from October to February and allows one to see the colorful and dynamic mating rituals.  The nesting site is located in the northern part of the lagoon by Man of War (the nickname for frigate birds because of their ability to steal other birds catches) Island and is only accessible by boat.  You should book at least a day in advance (can be done through your guest house in Barbuda) or you can see it on a day tour from Antigua.
