Aug 17, 2008 La Boca has an awesome culture - mainly old school Argentine including Tango. The houses are very brightly coloured as the old habitants mainly worked in the shipping yards and would build their houses out of the left over wood from ships... hence the reason they are multi-coloured. Try out a local bakery tango bar. Argentine's are mad on football, and the stadium in La Boca is home to one of the local football teams. Competition is fierce between the teams and some argy-bargy can occur!! Awesome atmosphere though!! Dec 28, 2008 Traditionally, La Boca is the working class/ship building/meat packing district and rumor has it it can still be a bit rough. However, the colorful homes are really cheery and give this section of the city a distinct character. Tango runs rampant here and there are a number of touristy cafes and souvenir shops. I visited on a bicycle tour, which I though was a great way to get in with a guided tour! Jul 3, 2008 If you like the argentinian tango, you will certainly enjoy the street dancers in La Boca, BSAS. Besides the tango, this part of the city is also known by its very colorful houses. And the people in the BSAS, of course. Just great!! Nov 13, 2009 Really colorfull and for the ones who like soccer, a great place. Just take care of your belongings, a friend of mine had his sunglasses robbed.
