At the convergence of the two Diagonals is the Plaza de Mayo, which is probably the most famous square in BsAs. The most moving part of this square are the "Madres" that march in remembrance of their children that disappeared during the Argentine Dirty War and in protestation against the government´s never having revealed/uncovered what happened. White kerchiefs are also painted on the square to represent their silent movement and political protest.
