Dec 27, 2008 At the convergence of the two Diagonals is the Plaza de Mayo, which is probably the most famous square in BsAs. The most moving part of this square are the "Madres" that march in remembrance of their children that disappeared during the Argentine Dirty War and in protestation against the government´s never having revealed/uncovered what happened. White kerchiefs are also painted on the square to represent their silent movement and political protest. Feb 6, 2012 An awesome place with a bit of tragic history. All guided tours of the city will pass through this amazing plaza. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend enough time here. The tragedy part comes into surface with the protest of the mothers of the "desaparecidos" during the Dirty War. It is a piece of history that lives in the hearts of all Argentines. Sep 12, 2009 A place that have gathered thousands of people. A place of history and beautiful buildings. You can see at east the Casa Rosada (Government House) were Evita spoke to the people from a balcony.
