Head out for a hike in the woods when you're near Ushuaia. Tierra del Fuego NP has some moderate trails not far from town (a shuttle can drop you off, pick you up). You'll most likely encounter only a few other hikers, great views of mountains and lakes, as well as plentiful wildlife such as woodpeckers and foxes. Some of the freshest air I've ever breathed!

Caminatas para hacer por cuenta propia; Senda Costera bastante fácil y corto sendero que va alternando entre las bahías y el bosque fueguino, con algunas subidas no demasiado empinadas; Hito, camino de muy fácil acceso que va bordeando la costa del Lago Roca, con hermosa vista al Cerro Condor y Cerro Guanaco, camino de mayor dificultad, bastante empinado por tramos, pero si se animan a la subida, las vistas que se tienen desde la cima de todo el parque son únicas.

The park, which extends 63,000 hectares in total is protected as a national park. There are however a couple of thousand hectares open to the public. With a mixture of wildlife (condors, albatross, cormorants, gulls, terns, oyster-catchers, grebes, and kelp geese to name but a few the park is full of things to see. There is ample routes for hiking, along with camp-sites for those wanting longer in the park. A good guide book to Argentina will fill in the rest.

A great national park, to be reached easily by bus from the centre of Ushuaia. Nice trails, views, beaver dams, ... often covered in mist which adds a special atmosphere to it. Visit the Yamana museum in Ushuaia prior to going to the N.P. , it will add an extra dimension.

Costs to get there and then to enter. Nice day hikes, but nothing too hard. Interesting history of the place, but now it is full of animals they imported like rabbits.
