Ejmiatsin is famous as a religious centre with its most siginificant object - complex of Mother Cathedral, Monastery and the residence of the Head of Armenian Church. The Mother Cathedral has an impressive Eastern architecture with beautifully decorated interior. Worth seeing if you go to Armenia.

Echmiadzin is the center of the Armenian Church . It is where the Catholicos Of All Armenians lives, and the location of the Ejmiatsin Cathedral. The cathedral, built in 480, is located in a walled compound with gardens and various structures.
