Haghtanak Park (also known as Victory Park) is a big park that is located at the center of Armenia's capital Yerevan . The park is named Victory Park due to Soviet Armenia's participation in World War II.   Inside the park you can find a Soviet style amusement park that contains a Ferris Wheel, outdoor billiards tables and other games.  Haghtanak Park also contains an artificial lake, cafes, and the Mayr Hayastan (Mother Armenia) statue, with a museum located underneath it.

The park is fairly heavily forested and you can see people (mainly children) racing around in miniature cars.  It also offers excellent views of central Yerevan.

As of April 2011 there were reports that Haghtanak Park would undergo a $60 million renovation that would modernize it and add an amphitheater and modern playgrounds as well as other attractions (both paid and free).  It is currently unknown when this renovation will take place.

Some of the other major attractions in Yerevan include the Blue Mosque, which is the last remaining mosque in the city and the Armenia Genocide Museum, which remembers one of the lesser known genocides in history (as well as a major point of contention between the Armenian and Turkish governments over recognition of it).

Haghtanak Park is located at the top of the Cascade, which is an attraction in itself with its staircase and waterfalls.

The center of the capital. you find here: an artificial lake, an amusement park, the Mayr Hayastan statue and museum, and sweeping views of central Yerevan. My favourite was the a Soviet style amusement park. A really old-fashined one. It is in the park with a Ferris wheel, cafés and outdoor billiards tables. If you like to travel back in time, just go there and try the games!

Nice place for relaxing, this park is located in central Yerevan not far from the "Cascade". It can be reached with marsrutkas, and with little more walking from trolleybus lines 9,10.
