The Australian War Memorial in Canberra is consistently ranked one of the top tourist attractions in Australia for a reason.  Comprehensive, informative and fascinating it's almost impossible to see everything in one visit.  One of the most popular parts of the memorial are the dioramas which depict various scenes from the wars and give a good insight into what life on the front was like.  The guides here are well informed and helpful and the free guided tours of the museum are worthwhile.  If you happen to be in Canberra for ANZAC Day (25th April) the dawn service at the war memorial is a truly moving experience that should not be missed.

Best museum in Austrlaia by far, even if you dont like war this is a must and shows you a great history of Australia at war and now has some interactive stuff as well
