Oct 19, 2008 This is not the most interesting of places, unless you're fascinated by government and politics, but it does seem a shame not to stop in while in Canberra. The architecture is impressive and nationals of bigger, more security conscious, countries will be amazed at how close the public can get to sitting politicians. One tip though, if you want to see Parliament in action make sure you're there when the members are sitting. Oct 26, 2008 Its the stuff of year six exhursions for every Aussie kid. Not alot to interest you if you arent into national buildings or politics. The best memory i have of Parliament house is when my sister, aged three at the time, fell off the chair and hit her head on the marble stair. Getting stitches at Parliament House is exciting tho! Feb 13, 2009 A simple place. If you have lived in a commonwealth territory then you will just be visiting the Australian equivalent of it. It felt as if I've been transported to Ottawa. As a historical site its filled with interesting artifacts and might be enjoyed by the family. Jun 2, 2009 It is an absolute smacker, the Parliament House. Build into a hill, the interior is even more stunning than the exterior. And they have a Magna Carta there(for those without history lessons, the Magna Carta forced the English king to obey the law as all others). Oct 20, 2008 Very interesting place for those who are not familiar. Always good for a look around and some history. Not quite my cup of tea but still rather interesting.
