The Carillon is a bell tower located on Lake Burley Griffin that was given to Australia by the British Government in 1970 to celebrate 50 years of Canberra.

This is a great spot for a picnic, quiet and pretty and a little bit isolated.  We also discovered that f you stand in the middle of the Carillon, look up and spin it does very strange things to your head (the joys of being a Uni student in Cnaberra!), it's surprisingly fun though!
