A more laid back, smaller alternative to Bondi Beach, Coogee Beach is a protected beach situated within a bay.  One thing to be careful though is that the beach can drop off rapidly at the edge, so be careful when the surf is large.  Coogee Beach is the location for a number of sport activities. There is a nice beach path linking Coogee Beach to Bondi beach.

Coogee is a such a great alternative to the much larger, and much showier, Bondi. Great beaches, great food (try Dervish!!!), and great views. I lived in Coogee for half a year and miss it dearly! If you find yourself there, be sure to do the Coogee-Bondi walk.

Whatever the weather, Coogee Beach is an awesome place to hang out with your friends ... Sand castles at night if the weather's fine, just chilling on the benches if windy or raining, always a beautiful view with cliffs and water everywhere. Just amazing.

Really nice atmosphere without the hype. Nice pubs and cafes close by. The Spot is a good place to chill out too and that is just up the hill from the beach... there is a cheap art deco cinema there.

Cool beach with great views. If you walk along the coast you'll sea a trail from here to Bondi beach. Bit windy though.

Cool beach with a really nice beach walk...some pretty vicious rock pool areas on the way to bondi from here!
