theres so many parks to this park, situated smack bang in the middle of the city

watch out for the ibises... if you're not wary they have been known to steal your lunch from your hands!

the park it situated over several "city blocks" - so if you come across a main road, but still see more park - it's all part of the same place!

The Hyde Park fountain is a popular spot - particularly with photographers fro weddings and the like - but it's also a restful place - when there isn't a festival or markets happening...

night noodle markets in october are yummy - and busy.... sydney festival usually has all sorts of bands and stalls etc... plus other things throughout the year (art exhibitions, christmas carols, chinese new year and st.patrick's day - to name but a few)

lunchimes tend to be busy with city workers trying to relax - take a breather from their offices, or get a little fit by doing some jogging or other forms of excercise

don't foret to watch the guys near St. James station end as they battle out each day for a chess champion!

The Starbucks on Hyde Park corner is a fantastic place to watch the world go by. When I was working in Sydney I would spend my afternoon here on a Saturday afternoon reading a book and watching th world go by. And being Scottish, I loved the sometimes over-zealous air conditioning system!

What i love most about Hyde Park is the spectacular fountain in the middle. This is where office workers from the surrounding buildings will come to eat there lunch, events such as the city to surf start from, etc. Great at dusk when they light the fairy lights on the big trees.

It's a decent place to get takeout at any of the myriad of nearby restaurants/food stalls and just chill out and people/bird watch.

The War Memorial in Hyde Park will make you cry when you see the statue of the fallen soldier being carried.
