Oct 23, 2008 Mindil Beach Markets are a Darwin must-do if you are there from April-October. There is definitely a food theme and favourite stalls include any of the stands that sell fresh tropical juices or green papaya salad, and Ken's crepes. The entertainment is always uniquely Darwin. You may not be as lucky as I was to see fire-twirler Pete and his combi-van, but there will surely be something equally fun. If you miss the Mindil season, some of the foodie treats are also available at the weekend Parap or Nightcliff markets which run year round and have a great community atmosphere, if not the delightful Mindil Beach sunset location. Oct 8, 2008 The Mindil Markets are a foodies paradise. I ate my way up one side and down the other. The markets stalls are fairly standard beach market fare with the obligatory hippie chic clothing, Aboriginal art and fortune tellers - it's the food and the amazing sunsets that draw the tourist and locals alike. Get in early for a good perch in the sand as it soon fills up. Aug 1, 2008 Perfect for watching sunsets. The downside is: even if they are less common in winter, you always have to be aware of the box jellyfishes, and you never know if a casuarine crocodile welcomes you in the water...happy swimming! May 21, 2011 Beautiful sunsets, though a bit over-rated. The sunset markets are great to see and experience, but don't change much from week to week.
