Very different! The location is great, with Brisbane's skyline as a backdrop. The beach isn't big, but the fact that it exists makes up for the small scale. Right next to it is a type of kiddie pool, with fountains and statues of animals. It's worth the 20 minute walk. I only wish that I'd brought a towel and a swimsuit.

Nice place to have a splash and cool off if it is a hot day though usually it is crowded and that can make some things a challenge, though there are clean and safe change rooms / lockers available and lockers are reasonable. there are markets on a sunday too which breaks the day up with all the swimming :)

If you want relaxing in Brisbane, go to the Streets Beach (City Beach) at the South Bank. At the weekends it is always a bit crowded, but you have a lot of fun and will meet new people!

Back in the old days it was just called Southbank beach. A few different pools and a relaxing place to go for a wander. Nice markets and restaurants, some small concerts.

I really like the concept... a place, just for relaxing, having fun, barbecue, a swim, sunbathing.... just on the other side of the bridge
