At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach is Hill Inlet, a stunning inlet where the tide shifts the sand and water to create a beautiful fusion of colours. Many people claim Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach are the most beautiful places they've ever seen. Whitehaven Beach can be experienced in several ways. If you're interested in a day trip, there are ferries and luxury cruising yachts that depart from Airlie Beach. A variety of sailing companies also offer multi-day charters that include a memorable visit to Whitehaven Beach in addition to stops to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Seaplanes and helicopters also visit the area offering stunning views from the sky. Whitehaven Beach, it's definitely a must-see in the Whitsundays. Payment Accepted:

Jun 9, 2010 My mate Rusty I were based at Mourilyan near Innisfail Qld while in the army, testing tracked personel carriers. We had leave for two weeks so got the train to the coast, boat to South Mole Island (Tropical Paradise). We went on one of many day cruises to beautiful Whitehaven Beach where the boat crew from South Mole, cooked us a magic BBQ while we swam in the crystal clear waters just of the most beautiful beach of white sand, Whitehaven Beach. When we all left in the big 2 storey launch, 2 people were waving from the jungle edge on the island. A honey moon couple had been doing what honey moon couples do, in the bush. We came back ;-) May 22, 2010 Probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When I visited the operator didn't tell us that they did the movie 'Fools Gold' and the beach was totally blocked :( We could see it from a viewpoint but they brought us to a different beach close by and there was something magical - the sand was made of some sort of quartz and so it didn't get hot in the sand. So did you ever walked in cool sand while the sun is shining and it's about 40°C?! Think that is unique! Dec 4, 2008 One of the most beautiful pristine beaches in the world. The view from the lookout is breathtaking. Nice to just lie on the sand and go for a dip. If you like more activity try some beach cricket because there are definitely no waves to keep you entertained. Only accessible by boat, take an elegant yacht for true relaxation or a powerful cruiser if you are in a hurry (in which case, the Whitsunday's probably aren't for you anyway!). Jun 28, 2011 Just one word is enough: Paradise! Great place to go sailing and thats not that expensive from Arlie Beach. Lots of boats leave the harbor daily, but still when sailing around the island you won't see much other boats. We were even lucky enough to swim next to a sea-turtle, and snorkling is great here. The white sandy beaches are fantastic, but please don't take the sand because in the future the might be no more beach left. Related Links
