If you come to Melbourne, you have to see a sporting event at the MCG. Now I know every city in the world has a big stadium, many bigger than the G, but Melbourne has a very unique aspect that you will not find in any other country's stadiums - Aussie Rules Football. Now many people outside of Oz dont understand or dont like, but until you experience 90,000+ fans screaming at a game, you cant really call yourself a sports fan. The best thing is the location. Before the game, hit up a couple of the small pubs just across from the ground, then after the game, head to Richmond for a few more beers at any number of Pubs, and then if your team won and you are feeling up for it, hit up the clubs of the city centre (5 mins by taxi), the bars and pubs of St.Kilda (10 mins by taxi), or the grungy bars and pubs of Fitzroy and Brunswick (5 10 mins by taxi).

The home of football and Cricket, this is the greatest stadium in the world and holds 100,000 people. For any tourist do yourself a favour and see an AFL game here

Its the best ground in the world, nothing compares to the atmosphere especially at the AFL Grand Final or any sporting final held at the MCG
