If you are happen to be garden and horticulture enthusiast, don't miss this place! And even if you have little interest for plants, don't miss this place. It is perfect for a break from exploring Melbourne, place to sit on a bench or walk meandering paths amids spectacular greenery while enjoying views of the downtown Melbourne.

A wonderful place to walk around any time of the year, always something different, relax and eat (either bring your own picnic or at the restaurants).

In the summer attend one of the plays in the gardens in the evening. Great way to introduce the kids to Shakespeare and its the home of the Melbourne Observatory.

Melbourne has some great garden, unfortunetly they are going through a drought at the moment so its not as green as it once was but this has meant more native flowers are there to be seen so you get a more Aussie feel now. They are also a great place to go to if you just want to lie down and relax

A wonderful respite from the hurly-burly of the city. It houses temperate rain-forest vegetation, trees from around the world, a diverse collection of succulents, and many rare and beautiful plants and trees. It is also a most relaxing venue in all seasons.

this is a great place to relax on a sunny day, just sit on the grass, drink a beer, read a book and enjoy all the greenness and beautiful trees around you. And its in the middle of the city! In summer they also have open air cinema in this park.
