Its about three hours from Perth and apart from Hippo's Yawn its a long way from anything. Once we had our pics we got bored easily but amused ourselves by taking self timed pictures...the result was a fractured fifth metatarsal ie foot bone so my recommendation is not to jump off anything! You can climb above the rock for pretty amazing views.

Wave Rock is quite a long way out of Perth but once you get there it's quite impressive. You probably wouldn't want to drive out here just to see the rock and then drive back to Perth but if you make it a part of a larger trip it is a very cool detour. You would probably want to spend an hour or two here and explore Hippos Yawn as well.

Looks great on camera and has a little trail nearby leading to some more great natural landscapes such as the hippo's yawn, but apart from that theres not much to see and so the wow factor wares off after 5 minutes, before you're left to make the long journey home (it's in the middle of nowhere). Great camera pic's though.
