Fremantle (or Freo as it's known to the locals) is a wonderful place to spend a weekend.  There is a strong Italian influence here and you will find a large number of good Italian restaurants and cafes (eg Ginos, Old Papas etc).  This is one of the older parts of Perth and many of the buildings were built by the original convicts.  It's well worth stopping by the prison, the old and the new Maritime museums, the roundhouse and the finding somewhere nice and quiet for a coffee or dinner.  The pubs here are wonderful as well, laid back and friendly with a fairly casual atmosphere.

Fremantle has a great beach, some lovely places to eat and drink and the markets are fabulous! There are always art exhibitions and performers in the streets. Fremantle is great for a day out with the family andf there are some good parks for the kids to play at. The maritime museum is a great sorce of history and very very interesting, not to mention the fremantle prison which is a lot of fun!

Freo is one of my favourite locations in WA. With all the historic buildings, the Old Goal, Fremantle Markets and Fishermans Harbour nearby, this place oozes with charm. There's a huge selection of top restaurants, bars, breweries, pubs and cafe's to cater for everyone's tastes. So much to see and do, - you'll need more than a day at Freo.

Fremantle, one of the best places to visit/stay when visiting Perth. On the coast, fantastic restaurants and good bars, with a good 'village' feel that people from the UK will understand. There is a train which runs from Perth central to Fremantle so it is easy to get into and out of Perth for when visiting places in the city.

Fremantle has a great boho feel about it my personal faves are the "Mad Monk Brewery" and "Little Creatures", another local brewery also be sure to check out the fairy shop, lolly shop ("Saras Lolly shop") and medievil inspired "Into Camelot" which are located in a mall off the main cafe strip (near Gelare).
