Uninhabited Baker Island is a national wildlife refuge that is administered by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, and is off limits to those without special permits.   It is a barren island that serves as a nesting ground for turtles and birds, as well as a migratory stopping point for birds.  There is also a cemetery and the remnants of a few old structures.
