Sep 30, 2011 The city hall was being built in 1679 — 1681 by local foremen Feska, Ignaty, Nedosek, Vaska, Andrei and Grishka. The architecture look of the city hall was simple and rigid with gilded weathercocks on 5-storey tower. According to the experts’ opinion, Mogilev city hall is considered to be one of the best pieces of work of Belarus civil architecture of the 17th century. The city hall was considerably damaged during the Great Patriotic War, but it survived, though later on in 1957 this unique monument of architecture was completely destroyed. A restored city hall building was commissioned in June, 2008 during celebration of the Day of the City.
