Near the Erasmus house you will find the smallest Beginenhof of Belgium. They only lived up to eight ladies. This is not an abbey and the ladies were no nuns. They used to live here when their husband died before they did. They were allowed to marry again and leave the Beginenhof. Mostly they stayed.

There is a very nice lady guiding you through if you don't mind. She is very happy and bubbly so it is very entertaining! The Beginenhof is great because it shows like people lived back then.
