Cultural Museum
The Erasmus house is one of the oldest gothic houses in Brussels. It was built between 1450 to 1515. It is named after Erasmus of Rotterdam the famous humanitarian philosopher who was visiting a friend the owner of the house Pieter Wijchman from May to October 1521. The museum interior consists of gothic and renaissance furniture as well as original paintings and drawings of Hohlbein, Bosch and Dürer. In the backyard you will find the philosophical garden. It shows different plants and herbs for healing what people used in the 16th century.

The Erasmus house and the Beginenhof for just €1,25! Unbeatable! And it is worth it. See how people like the famous Humanitarian Erasmus of Rotterdam lived in the 16th century. The house shows original furniture and painting! You can relax - not many people know about it and so mostly you will be the only guest.
