Mennekin Pis, which means "little man urinating" is a famous Brussels landmark. It's a small bronze fountain sculpture of a little naked boy urinating.  Several times each week the statue is dressed in different costumes.  These costumes are managed by a not for profit organization The Friends of Manneken-Pis.

Manneke Pis is a small statue that depicts a little man urinating (as such creating a fountain). It is a very known statue in all of Belgium. There are all kinds of little figurines, chocolates, key chains, etc. you can buy in this shape. On the grand marketplace there is a big museum dedicated to this statue. The museum is filled with all kinds of outfits that were given to the city for Manneke Pis. And on several occasions, they will actually put them on the statue. It is worth checking out if you're in Brussels and it is a great spot for fun pictures!

Little statue of a boy pissing into a fountain - he has many different costume including a Barcelona FC strip. He has been stolen a couple of times, but was returned without harm on both occasions! There are a lot of tourist shops where you can buy little statuettes of him. All in all its not the most impressive sight as he is only a foot tall but certainly a must for anyone visiting Brussels.

Unless you really need a picture of yourself with the little guy in the background to prove at home that you've been in Belgium don't go there. It is an absolute tourist trap. The shops around it have some really tacky souvenirs for sale, can make for a funny but useless present. Or how a statue with a funny story behind it turned into a overestimated icon.

I loved Brussels, in fact I loved everything about Belgium and look forward to returning. The locals are friendly and happy people and I just adore the Belgium Beer. The cities are small enought to enjoy walking round them as they have just the right mixture of historical sites and buildings together with new and modern shops etc. Definately worth going to.

From what you see in pictures, you would expect a great statue... yet it is all but.
You have to walk to the back of some alleys and then "try" and find this little man hidden in a corner. You would not come across it, if you were not accompanied by somebody who already knew where it was. It's a complete disappointment!!
