Beautiful, great for a walk. The canals are often flanked by beautiful old houses, and are quite worth the trip to Gent alone. People always talk about how beautiful Paris is, but if you want a city that's cheaper and has less tourists, go to Gent. You won't regret it.

Lovely canal area. Not as extensive as in Bruge but lovely nonetheless. Definitely try to stop over for at least a few hours if travelling between Bruges and Brussels. Give Antwerp a miss if short on time or not a Rubens-lover.

Along the Canal at the Graslei, it's the place to be in Gent. A beautiful spot, fine cafés, restaurant and bars and a top view over the 3main towers of Gent. A Canaltrip is also recommended.

the ususal canal but the city architecture is very good as u pass by.

if u want to look at the city by canal , it s a nice option if u dont have a lot of time.
