If in Leuven visit The 'Groot Begijnhof' that is nowdays a University residential quarter for students, professors, and employees of the University. Also, the Infirmary of the 'Begijnhof' has been converted into the Faculty Club, a place for the academic, scientific, administrative, and technical staff of the University to meet.

Absolutely lovely place, still very much alive with all the students living here. Beware of the busloads of Japanese and other tourists they drop here. Still if you can manage to avoid the big crowds it is a wonderfull place.

A large beguinage including a Spanish quarter, a church, a modern congress centre and hotel, etc. Superb for a walk combined with a picnic or reading a book. Quite romantic.
