Sinkhole
Part of the Lighthouse Reef about 60 miles off the coast of Belize, the Blue Hole is a natural phenomenon almost perfectly circular in size, above 1000 feet across and 400 feet deep within which lies a labrinyth of caves and tunnels.  It was originally a limestone cave system in which the roof collapsed.  The striking colour is due to the depth of the hole.  The Blue Hole of Belize is the largest of its kind in the world.

This dive site was declared one of the top ten scuba diving sites in the world by Jacques-Yves Cousteau, a French naval officer and researcher.

Marine life found within the Blue Hole include the odd blacktip tiger shark, reef, bull, or the hammerhead shark, Pederson's cleaning shrimp, Neon gobies, Angelfish, and a number of corals and sea anemones.
