National Museum
Established in 1968 within the converted watchtower of the Paro Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan was created to showcase the country's culture and traditions.  it features a collection of murals and paintings, cultural exhibits and artifacts dating back from 2000 B.C. to modern day.  The museum contains over 3,000 works of Bhutanese art.

Also known as the "Fortress of the heaps of jewels", the Ripung Dzong was built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang.  It was once the administrative center of the dzonkhag.

I enjoyed seeing the really old thangkas and other art.  They also have a really interesting collection of old stamps from Bhutan.  They have had some really cool ones, like a whole series of yeti!
