Definitely worth a look -- this is where the Aymara people sell and buy their folkloric medicines and charms. You can buy any number of potions, herbs, candles, seeds, hallucinogens, elixirs, etc. to cure any ailment, find fortune, make someone fall in love with you, make someone fall out of love with you, etc... You can also purchase amulets or a dried llama fetus, which is buried beneath the cornerpost of a new construction as an offering to Pachamama.

El marcado de las brujas is a must if you're in La Paz. I loved the bolivian way of doing things, after seeing the markets in other big cities around the world where they throw themselfs at you this is really a relieve. Good place to find some odd souvenirs and to watch the Aymara women in there traditional dresses while they're shopping.

Great place to buy suvenires, also for those who like misterious magical gadgets. For example, If you planing to build a house you should go to La Paz and buy baby lama mummy. TIP! Look not only for things exposed on the top of the tables. Real misteries are always hiden below. ;)

Now this is what a market is meant to be! Ok, there are some normal stalls selling textiles and usual souvenir type items, but I think everyone goes here for the oddities - like dried llama fetuses . No, you don't eat them, supposedly you bury one under your house for good luck.
