This is a reserve with various attraction, several coloured lakes and vulcanoes.

Laguna Hedionda, stinking lake, because of the sulphur, is very popular with flamingoes.

Laguna Colorado, coloured lake, changes colour under influence of the sun and the wind, something to do with the micro-organismes that live in it. Also a very popular places to spot flamingoes. This places holds the largest polpulation of the rare James flamingo. Several other birds and animals can be seen here.

Laguna Verde, green lake, found at the foot of the Volcán Licancabur.

Geysers can also be found, one of them is de sol de Mañana a 50 meter high steam geyser. Close bye is the Laguna Chalviri with 30°C thermal waters where you can have a wash

It is not a place for Sissies. A few people I travelled with had severe altitude sickness. The lodgings are basic to very basic but once you see the flamingoes fly over a red lake with beautiful white shores you'll be glad you came. It's an amazing place, so of this world and well worth paying a litlle extra in Uyuni to take the long tour. Don't forget to bring your swimming gear so you can take a bath at 7 o'clock in the morning after your guide woke you up at 4 o'clock to go and see a geyser. Breakfast floating around in warm water at 4000 meter altitude...
