The ancient part of Olinda is a unique view. Colorful houses, many churches with statues painted with gold, hand made work of art - in a diversity I only found in Brazil, the ocean seen at the highest part of the city - where you find people from all around the world, drink some coconut water and eat "tapioca", while admiring the view of the ocean, olinda, and Recife.

Instead of staying in Recife, which is not such a beautiful city, go to the neighborhood of Olinda (15 minutes away by bus). Hills, houses painted in beautiful colours, old trees, gardens, artists studios, and the best view ever over the sea and the city of Recife !
