Nov 17, 2009 Liberdade - that means "freedom" in portuguese - is the neighborhood of the Japanese colony in the city of São Paulo. Liberdade have a lot of Japanese culture. Every weekend a little fair happens in the central square, with a lot of japanese food and cultural objects. Everything in Liberdade reminds us about Japan, we realy think that we are in Japan. Oct 23, 2011 Crazy! Too many people, too many cars, the traffic is stuck, the food is good, the people around are nice and helpful. Go out for shopping is good too. It is a huge city with many shopping malls. There you will find towns of most of the nationalities but the traditional ones are the Japanese, Chinese and Italian. Jun 15, 2011 It's the oriental neighborhood of São Paulo, great for buying japanese and Korean products. I would recomend people to go on weekends, when there's an open air market happening in the main square. Breakfast at Bakery Itiriki and lunch at one of the many japanese restaurants at Rua da Glória. Aug 25, 2011 Liberdade is the name of a district in São Paulo, Brazil. It is home to the largest Japanese community outside of Japan in the world and has been growing since the 1950s. I lived there for about 4 years. It was much more interesting some years ago. I still visit sometimes anyway. Aug 3, 2011 Fun place, with a lot of things to buy, eat and do, specially on wekends. Thre's a place where you can find lots of things on the japanese culture, like restaurants, mangas, people who like to cosplay and many other people that are much inspired by the harajuku style.
