Jul 26, 2011 The museum is a landmark in São Paulo. It's constructed in the area where D. Pedro I is supposed to have declared Brazil's independence from Portugal. And that's the image picture in the very famous painting "Independence or death" in permanent exposition there. Other exhibits recount the history of the early brazilian republic and also from São Paulo. Another great feature of this place is it's beautiful garden. Entrance tickets are really cheap (R$6,00 for adults - Something like US$ 4,00) and you can also buy combined tickets for other museums nearby (the aquarium is a great choice). Mar 30, 2009 Museu do Ipiranga (Ipiranga Museum) is located near the tomb of D. Pedro I, hero of Brazil's independence. The museum is full of art work and common objects from the XIX century, and the garden in front of it is inspired in the gardens of Luxemburg, in Paris. The garden ends in a monument where D. Pedro I and his wife are burried. May 15, 2011 it is located in a beautiful park, the museum is good, it tells the story about Brazil independence, but you can't have English/Spanish tours, which makes it really complicated for those who can't speak portuguese. Jul 4, 2011 One of the best spots in São Paulo. The Independencia Park is a nice place to stay for while and enjoy. The architecture is amazing, and inspired in places like Versailles. Must go!
