Porto Alegre's largest park, it's popularly known as "Parque da Redenção" (Redemption Park). There are a few artificial lakes and water mirrors, open areas where people play sports, walk their dogs, play musical instruments, sit around and talk, etc. There are also a famous bar called Café do Lago, an amusement park, an events center, a flower nursery and a mini-zoo. It's not a very safe place, and attendance after dark is totally discouraged. Maintenance and gardening could be better, as well. Still, it's one of Porto Alegre's nicest sites, and if you visit the city, you just have to get to know this.

Cool place in my hometown.. If you go to this city.. you need to visit this park! Farroupilha Park is the most famous park in the city and if you go in the weekends you will find lots of different kinds of people sharing the same space, drinking "chimarrão" and having fun with dogs or just friends..

If you want to go somewhere relaxed, don't go there on a Sunday, because it will be packed. Otherwise it's a pleasant place to stroll and you can find all kinds of people in the same place. The park was built with broad promenades and it has a beautiful lake/canal in the middle.

Most known like Parque da Redenção, this is a beautiful place to walk or just go with friends and sit on the grass. In the weekends, many people go to the park. There is a street market called Brique da Redenção with all the kinds of local handicraft and other cool stuff.

My favorite park in Porto Alegre!!! There are a big area to walk, playground for kids, a very nice Café in the lake. Many water fountains, a Chinese garden. And the Brique da Redenção every Sunday! Also, many cultural activities during the weekends, to everybody!
